Heritage charm with seasonal off-leash access. Oak Bay allows dogs off-leash at Uplands Park, Anderson Hill, and Willows Beach from approximately July through March. During spring and early summer, these areas revert to on-leash.
Seasonal rule: Off-leash access at most Oak Bay parks runs approximately July through March. During April through June, areas revert to on-leash to protect Garry oak ecosystems and nesting birds.

Uplands Park
Seasonal off-leash (Jul–Mar)Leash-optional from July through March. Beautiful Garry oak meadows with easy, flat trails. One of the most ecologically significant urban parks in the province.
Anderson Hill Park
Seasonal off-leash (Jul–Mar)Off-leash from July through March on the upper meadows. Great views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Cattle Point
Partial off-leashLeash-optional area with rocky shoreline and ocean views. Dogs must be leashed near the parking area and road.
Willows Beach
Seasonal off-leashLeash-optional seasonally. A popular, family-friendly beach walk. Check signage for current dates.
