About the Guide

Built by dog lovers,
for dog lovers.

The Greater Victoria Dog Guide started because we kept getting the same questions from fellow dog owners: where can I bring my dog? Which beaches allow off-leash access? What are the actual rules? So we decided to build the resource we wished existed.

The real stars of the guide.

Ziggy the Rottweiler

Ziggy

Chief Taste Tester, Age 6

A 6-year-old Rottweiler with strong opinions about water bowls, shade coverage, and the optimal belly-rub-to-treat ratio. Ziggy has declared Spinnakers the top patio and Beacon Hill Park the best off-leash zone.

Sahara the Lab mix

Sahara

Chief Trail Scout, Age 13

A 13-year-old Lab mix who has seen it all and walks at her own pace. Sahara's favourite things are soft blankets, gentle waves, and any trail with a good sniff count. If a park passes Sahara's senior-dog accessibility test, it makes the guide.

Happy Homes Team — eXp Realty

Why we built this guide.

We are the Happy Homes Team at eXp Realty in Victoria, BC. When we are not helping people find homes with soul, we are exploring every corner of Greater Victoria with Ziggy and Sahara.

We got tired of the guesswork — showing up to a beach only to find dogs are banned for the summer, or sitting down at a restaurant patio and being told dogs have to stay outside the fence. So we did the research and built this guide so you don't have to.

Whether you just moved to Victoria or have lived here for years, this guide is for you. Check back regularly — we update it as bylaws change and new spots open.
